Managed Authentication enabled business to enforce strong authentication (2-factor) of the user. The user doesn't log in anymore with a static password but with a passphase which is a combination of a pincode (something you known) and 6 digits that are time based from the token (something you have). This has several advantages: complex passwords are not necessary anymore, difficult password aren't written down on paper, the password are protected from replay, keyloggers, etc. Managed Authentication can be used for access to the windows domain, remote access, firewall authentication, extranet / website access to name a few and (as all our services) for a fixed price per user per year!

Technology

The servers, websites, firewalls, VPN appliances that require strong authentication are connected to our authentication server via the internet. 

In case a user is presented with a login screen, the user provides the necessary credentials (username + passphrase). The  authentication request is sent to the SecureLayers authentication server. The authentication server responds with an acceptance or deny. The solution is set up in such a way that with minimal changes to the architecture of the client. A dedicated website is available for both customer administrators and user to provision the tokens to the users. End-users can check the proper functioning of the token and change the pincode to their own preference.
